JDS Creative Academy has partnered with Mt. San Jacinto Community College as the education sponsor to our 18-month paid apprenticeship program. This program is for anyone who has an interest in Video Production, News, Journalism, Business, Communications, Digital Media, On Air Talent, Audio Production, Editing/Post Production, Graphic Design, Website Design and more!
Our apprenticeship program provides students emerging onto the workforce the hands-on training and industry work experience they need to enter the multibillion-dollar Broadcast News and Entertainment Industry sector in California. Each apprentice can choose from over ten occupational positions (see list below). Apprentices, alongside Inland Regional Center participants, are led by Industry Professionals in the production of a weekly newscast for Riverside County. In addition, the program benefits the entire Southwest Riverside County region by providing local news and information, which will be distributed throughout Riverside County.
To be eligible for the JDS Creative Academy apprenticeship, you must be enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, the MSJC Apprenticeship class. (To apply to the MSJC apprenticeship program Click Here). In addition, there are a minimum of three digital media classes that must be taken while going through JDSCA’s & MSJC’s 18-month apprenticeship program.
Important note: We do look to the school to refer students to our program, but it is not a requirement to already be a MSJC student.
We interview for open apprentice positions every other month. To be put on an interest list please Click Here to fill out an online inquiry – you may not be contacted right away but you will be notified when we are scheduling interviews.
