Scott and Diane Strand, the owners JDS Actors Studio and JDS Video & Media Productions, launched JDS Creative Academy in April, 2014. Born from their desire to create programs to advance education in all the arts industries, the Academy welcomes all students who are looking for in-depth art training and apprenticeships.
JDSCA believes that an education not enhanced by the arts is just empty knowledge without passion. Our hope is that this artistic passion spearheads the creativity that’s needed for students to succeed in college and beyond. In today’s new emerging workforce an education in visual and performing/production Arts is needed to succeed in the future of tomorrow.
STEM TO STEAM:
Our curriculum is designed with a STEAM perspective; planning exercises, activities and programs with a hands on learning method; not only in terms of having a framework that illustrates where the subjects overlap with the arts, but also in providing a living and adaptable learning structure for the ever-changing personal and global development.

Unfortunately, arts education and training is being missed through the home school, online school, and even partly through the traditional public school environment.
Additionally, the isolation and loss of social interaction through home school and online school makes it hard for our youth to integrate into the arts professionwithout learning their craft in a collaborative competitive environment.
JDS Creative Academy provide a safe, collective environment for all youth and young adults to learn the arts. They will gain education, knowledge, hands-on-training, and skills to advance into higher education or the workforce, and prosper in a competitive marketplace.
