Who’s Your Teacher: Johanna Lack
Johanna Lack has taught scriptwriting at JDS Creative Academy since its inception 10 years ago. She is the head writer for JDSCA’s Spirit of Innovation and an award-winning television producer/writer who worked on shows for HGTV, DIY, CBS, ABC, and Discovery Channel. She has always loved scriptwriting, whether writing for class films while earning her B.S. in Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University, or taking extension classes in screenplay writing at UCLA. When she started out as an assistant to Hollywood producers, she was asked to read and evaluate scripts and quickly learned what made a screenplay great – and what sent it to the reject pile. She uses that knowledge in her own writing and teaching.
